Computer Recycling Campaign

Petaling Jaya City Council in collaboration with DELL Computer and IRM has started the first computer recycling program in Klang Valley since end of 2006. The purpose is to educate general public on E-Waste recycling and to compliment existing 3R program of the community groups. The Campaign with the support and participation of 9 organisations including the residents associations, school and NGO managed to collect 8 tonnes of computer and accessories for a period of 6 months starting September 2007. Due to overhelming response, the campaign will be continued and in the pipeline is more incentives will be offered. LA 21 PJ welcomes any suggestion to reduce our waste.
